Poor, Poor Preppers
When the SHTF and you realize you don't have $70,000 in supplies because you spent the last decade in a screwed economy that sucked you dry....what to do???
"OMG don't steal that loaf of bread, it's sooo wrong!!!"
Unlike the S.O.B. sitting in a $100,000 bunker on 20 years of goods ready to blow the top of your head off with his $5000 sniper rifle as soon as you step in his zone because you want to feed your baby. Folks will have to do what they have to.
They have no other choice in the matter.
For those who have spent bucks on their survival, the have-not's or (non-preppers) are already assumed the enemy. If you have not been blessed by the grace of the BIG BENJAMIN's, that's fine. When hell breaks loose, all bet's are off. Game on.....NO SHAME!!!
To the "poor preppers", remember some have already decided that they and there people will survive at all cost. Even if it's with lethal force. You may be forced to the same conclusion. The only difference is you will be forced to that conclusion. The "Good Preppers" premeditated that conclusion. Now who's the righteous prepper now????

Got Bullets?
There are billions of bullets produced every year in the
United States. Based on military statistics it take about $2000 in 9mm
ammo firing at a moving target to achieve maximum close range proficiency.
In the Vietnam conflict the average soldier expended 2200 rounds per
tenure with 2.5 million served as combat troops. That equals 5.6 billion
rounds. Rough estimates state 150,000 Vietcong were killed
during the war.
Combat conflictive situations expend a great deal of
firepower with what can be minimal results.
Us American vets are trained as combatants supported by the largest war
machine ever, that equates to more ammo on the way.

Eh, Jacob and I shall barter for our goods; as done in the old country
Good thing the last two generations still around have been milking the goats and not playing Gears of War. No opening their minds to blasting folks all day long. We're populated by scores of frustrated, greedy bastards in a me me me culture. Oh yea and lying is an art of the times.
Sure, if you find yourself in Hidden Valley making salad dressing and a lil' Amish woman wants to trade for a hot pecan pie, sure, wheel n' deal. But despite the Family Channel's version of history and humanity the only fair barter looks like a Mexican standoff and if ya flinch, ya leak.
There may be a time when an enlightened philosophy of harmony finds it's way to mankind but so far it's a no-go. Expect the worse and you won't be disappointed. Or dead.

Let's Get Tribal
Since the earliest traces of mankind we have been tribal. It comes natural. Even today it is how we work. The gang, fraternity, clicks in work, politics and sports. We create tribal forms in all things of interest.
When things are good we like it and when things are bad we need it. This form of social structure is normal and very functional. Tribal is a natural isolation.
This is the way it is and the way it will be. Prepare this way. Strength in numbers for 60,000+ years and counting.

Ahhh when the bad thing happens to good hard work’n folk
Melungeon-
When
the world gets bad, as it has many times before seems us regular work’n folk
are the first to be exploited by means of violence, fear and the wealthy. I’m
think’n for the next doomsday we consider ourselves well and reinforce our back
bone and skills upfront so this time we are not prey.
#1 Consider the
difference between what you want to be and what you need to be and what you
truly are.
#2 Human cultures have
always been tribal it just works for us, more like wolves less like squirrels
#3 You’re greatest
hindrance is fear and it branches like stress, worry, anxiety and the such:
They bleed focus dry and happiness as well
#4 Be to the bone
honest with yourself, and loyal to the deserved.
There are and will be
very bad people we must be equal to or greater then. We don’t have $100,000 for
a luxury bunker or $25,000 in ammo and we don’t need it for we are not driven
by fear, only squirrels stress so much about hiding their nuts. We will get
through it and we are nobody’s prey.

Most Preppers today spend thousands of dollars to put a shelter in the ground. And more on food, medical equipment and other various supplies. While in a few situations it's practical, such as natural disasters or nuclear fall out, it doesn't provide a long term solution. Here's an old Twilight Zone episode showing some interesting scenarios. .
